Triumph has launched its second 400cc model, the Scrambler 400 X, in India, priced at Rs 2,62,996 (ex-showroom). In July, the two-wheeler manufacturer introduced the Speed 400, which is available for Rs 2,33,000 (ex-showroom). Both motorcycles are being manufactured at Bajaj Auto's Chakan plant.

The Scrambler 400 X can be booked via the Triumph Motorcycles India website for a refundable token amount of Rs 10,000. The motorcycle will be available at the exclusive Triumph dealerships, which will rapidly ramp up across more than 100 cities within this fiscal (FY24).

The design of the Triumph Scrambler 400 X is inspired by that of the Scrambler 900 and the Scrambler 1200, with a claimed off-road pedigree that goes back to the first factory Scramblers of the 1950s.

Conceived and designed in Hinckley, UK, from the ground up, the Scrambler 400 X showcases the Triumph design elements, including the Triumph silhouette, signature sculpted fuel tank, classic engine profile, and high-quality fit and finish. The motorcycle has several practical features like protection for the headlight, radiator, and sump, as well as handguards, a handlebar brace with pad, contemporary upswept silencer, dual-purpose tyres, and a longer front mudguard.

The Scrambler 400 X has all-LED lighting (headlight, taillight and indicators) with signature LED DRL. The motorcycle has an analogue speedometer and integrated LCD screen, which includes a digital tachometer, fuel range indicator and gear indicator. There are handlebar-mounted scroll buttons and a USB-C charging socket. The Scrambler 400 X is equipped with a steering lock and an anti-theft immobiliser as standard.

At the heart of the Scrambler 400 X is a 398cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine, delivering 40PS of max power and 37.5Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. You get features like a torque-assist clutch and ride-by-wire throttle.

The Scrambler 400 X sits on a hybrid spine, tubular steel frame. It has USD front forks and a monoshock at the rear with 150mm wheel travel at both ends. There are 10-spoke alloy wheels (19-inch front and 17-inch rear) with a 320mm front disc and a 230mm rear disc. The seat height is measured at 835mm. The motorcycle comes with a switchable traction control system and a Bosch dual-channel ABS, which can be deactivated.

The motorcycle is being offered in Matte Khaki Green, Phantom Black and Carnival Red colours. More than 25 genuine accessories are available for the Scrambler 400 X. It has a 16,000 km service interval and a five-year warranty. Triumph is also giving 24x7x365 roadside assistance at only Rs 500.
